Li Zicheng tossed about in bed at night because Wu refused to surrender. He opened the door and came out of the room. .It was very late but the moon was very light. From his position on the control tower , he had a good view of the harbour and mountain. Just then,an old man with long white beards walked over from the east of the river. Li Zicheng asked “It is very late why not to sleep?” The old man said “Never pass the Tayakou if you want to attack the Shanhaiguan Great Wall of China.” Li knew at once the old man’s means. Presently the old man disappeared.
