St.Sophia Church
St.Sophia Church is the largest Eastern Orthodox Church and located in Harbin, Heilongjiang province. It has a long history and goes through several reconstructions. The church was first built by the Russian with timber in March, 1907. Then, four years later, it was rebuilt by the Russian with masonry and timber. In 1997, it was repaired by the Harbin government and was renamed as Harbin Art Gallery. Because the original urals were lost totally , new murals showing the architectural history of the city were repainted on. Nowadays , the church has become a famous landmark of Harbin and also a popular attraction.
