                             Heavenly Lake

Heavenly Lake is an alpine lake in Xinjiang, Northwest China. It lies on the north side of the Bogda Hill range of the Tianshan Mountains,about 30 km south of Fukang and 110 km east of Urumqi. It is an alpine drift lake shaped in the Quaternary Glacier period. The lake is 2000m above sea level,covering 4.9 square km, 105m deepth at the deepest point.In 2006,it was designated for 4 years of restoration work at a cost of 800 million yuan.
