Tiananmen Square is one of Beijing attractions. Tiananmen Square , the world’s largest public square is an immense plain, of paving stones at the center of Beijing. The total area of Tiananmen Square covers approximately 440000 square meters, can hold 400 thousands people at the same time. If you can get up early you may watch the flag raising ceremony at sunrise , performed by a group of People’s Liberation Army soldiersmarch forward at precisely 108 paces per minute, 75cm per pace. The same ceremony in reverse is performed at sunset. The eastern side of Tiananmen Square is the National Museum ; the western side is the Great Hall of the People;the southern side is Chairman Mao Memorial Hall; the northern side is Forbidden City.
